Hi Bonefishers!

I’m a professional Bonafide Bonefishing Guide with four years of experience and a lifetime of knowledge on the water. I was born in the USA and raised in the Bahamas, where I grew up around boats and began fishing at an early age with my father, legendary Long Island guide James “Docky” Smith.

I have experience fly fishing and spin casting for bonefish and other species, as well as reef fishing and deep sea fishing. I also gained valuable maritime experience while working at Ocean Cay near Bimini and on Cape Eleuthera before returning home to Long Island to join my father in the family bonefishing business.

I’m a certified lifeguard and capable boat captain, and I always make safety and guest comfort a priority. I try to keep every day on the water relaxed, friendly, and fun, while giving anglers of every experience level their best opportunity to catch fish.

Away from the water, I’m also a musician. I sing, play keyboard, and created The Bonafide Bonefishing Show on YouTube.
